Bulk Fueling

The minimum drop decides more quotes than the mile count

Distributors publish a minimum when they have one because the truck has a cost before it has a price. A short drop next door can still be a no.

There is no national minimum

A transport might want several thousand gallons. A tank wagon might make a smaller stop and still have a floor. The number lives on the profile when the company filled it in. If the line says to ask, put your real estimate in the quote and let them answer.

Do not inflate gallons to clear a minimum you cannot store. A tank that cannot take the load is a refused delivery and a wasted window. The honest number gets a usable yes or no.

How it shows up in the rank

Minimum gallons are part of profile completeness, which is part of the quality score. They also show on the card when the company set them, so you can skip a transport minimum your tidy tank cannot hold.

Completeness is not the whole rank. Distance, verification, the review score, response time after enough answered quotes, and the equipment match still move the order. A complete listing with a 5,000-gallon minimum is the wrong first call for a 400-gallon hose job.

Questions

Can I split a minimum across two tanks?

Ask in the notes. Some wagons will. A transport that expected one hookup may not.

What if the profile leaves the minimum blank?

Treat it as unknown. Your gallon estimate is how they decide.
